Company Profile

film-strip

Emelle was birthed out of a love for the community in which the founders were born and raised; and the love of the arts which they have been able to express and share all of their lives. Mocha Shimmy (MS), after teaching and performing for more than six years (of which 2 of the founders are members), decided to host their own showcase that presented various art genres. The response was overwhelming.  Youth responses from other events were equally overwhelming.

The other founder had been in the music business for many years and also taught sound engineering. As an artist, music producer and lover of youth, it became the perfect answer to meld our ideas; especially since funding for the arts in schools continuously decline each year. This is even more prevalent in low income areas.

Emelle’s desire is to not only preserve the arts and its history, but to improve health, and spur economic growth in North Tulsa. This is the driving factors as change agents for our community.
